Like most nanomaterials, ultrafine copper powder is expensive. This is not due to the cost of materials but rather to the complex production process. In order to obtain a Nano copper powder that can be used for medical- or high tech purposes, the particle size must not be larger than 1200nm (1,2µm), the particles must be approximately round and the purity must be at least 99,99x%.

In the aerospace and electronics industries, the particle size must not be larger than 40 µm (40.000 nm); the quality should be at least 99,99x% metal basis. Copper powder of this quality costs between US$ 500 and US$ 2500 per gram, depending on the purchase quantity.

In order to produce one gram of this powder, a multiple of high-purity copper, solutions, catalysts and additives are required .However, the most expensive part of this process remains to be the high-end equipment required to produce it.

How?

FME Metal and its global partners have a steady production of Ultrafine Nano copper powder straight from the source. After a client orders Ultrafine Nano copper powder the batch will be produced. The client can ask for specific properties such as particle size.

  • After production the material is shipped to Switzerland where it is subjected to a stringent Quality Control by an international renowned organization.
  • After the Analysis is completed and approved by Fairfield Mach-E the analysis report is handed over to the client for approval of the goods.
  • After approval by the client the product can be shipped globally to non-sanctioned countries.

There is always a small quantity, ~250 kg, of Ultrafine Nano copper powder in stock however the availability of relative larger quantities is limited. This mean that most of the orders will need to be produced on demand.

The production of the product can take up to weeks followed by the Analysis in Switzerland which, in turn, can also take up to two weeks. This will bring the total delivery time of larger quantities up to 4 weeks.

All Ultrafine Nano Copper Powder is packed in PET bottles filled with argon Gas which protects the valuable metals against corrosion for many years. If a client has a special request regarding the packaging such as glass tubes, this can usually be arranged.
